Routines and how to stick to them

So personally my son and I don't always follow the same routine in the mornings but it works for us and gets his day going.

My one major thing is I set my alarm to get up before my son does, that way I can make coffee and start breakfast before he wakes up. Usually we start with eating breakfast together and watching some cartoons (Mickey Mouse 99% of the time lol)

After we eat breakfast we usually play with some toys and then work on some learning activities. I think routines work best not when you set a strict rigid schedule but when you have a general outline of what you are going to do.

Our bedtime routine still needs some work lol usually we take a bath, get our pajamas on, then watch a little tv
And read about 10 books (my son loves to read and I can't say no) I have a much older daughter as well (10) who follows kind of the same routine. She showers, gets dressed, and then we read in bed for 30 minutes before lights out.

I think the key to a bedtime routine is giving kids a chance to wind down. My husband likes to wrestle and play with my son in bed and everytime he does I end up being awake till 1am because my son has to wind down all over again. So my number one piece of advice for bedtime is to give your child enough time to wind down before lights out.

No matter what your routines are just remember these key points; don't worry adopt being so strict on exact activities, and give your child time to adapt if it's a new routine. You can't expect them to adjust in a day or even a week, I'd give it about a month or so until they get used to it.

See you all Saturday for the most fun and planned out post for me, mom fashion! Lol

Relaxation?

I know, I know, as a mom this word is more of a fantasy than a reality. This weekend my daughter was gone and my son was distracted my Mickey Mouse so I had about an hour to myself. I got in a bath
and prepared for a very short relaxation time. I used some Epsom salt and relaxing bubble bath. It was amazing floating in the water listening to music 😊

My tips for busy Mama's with very little time to themselves;
1. Make the most of the time you get. Leave your phone in the room, grab a book, or listen to some music.
2. Find an area that makes you feel the most calm, for me it's the bath but it could be your bed, reading nook, backyard, anywhere that makes you feel calm.
3. If your taking a bath? Find luxury bath items that will help you sloth your muscles and relieve stress. My favorite is
5. Make sure you clear your mind of any to-do list or problems that you are having. You just can't relax with all this on your mind.
6. Try one of those new adult coloring books. I go into a trance when I color lol so these are good for me! I found some good ones at Powell's world of books but Amazon has a ton of them as well.

I hope this helps some of you fellow Mama bears get some much needed relaxation!

See you tomorrow for talk about toddler morning/bedtime routines 😬

So it begins.....

Hey! Welcome to the wonderful world of, my blog. I'm starting this blog as a stay-at-home-mom (SAHM) of two wonderful children. I figure I have some neat tips, tricks, adventures and I would like to share them with other Mama's out there.

A little about me and my lovely family!
My wonderful husband Brad works full-time in the comic industry which has been a lot of fun for us as a family over the years, my daughter Autumn is 10 years old, and my son Jude is 2 years old. Last but not least there is me! I am 27 years old and a SAHM. I've worked in education, security, and customer service but in the end decided that it was best for everyone if I stayed home to take care of the children and the household.
I met my husband when his band opened for HelloGoodbye back in 2011 and we started dating in December of the same year. He openly accepted myself and Autumn and became an amazing Father, then we were blessed with Jude in June of 2013 and in August of that year we got married in Vegas in true Star Wars fashion.
It was totally us and I loved every minute of it!

So that is about me, my crazy family, and this blog. I hope to gain some followers and share some fun stuff with you all.

Stay tuned for more :)
